I’m sure that at some point you have gone on a diet to be healthier, or maybe you always eat healthy. *High five to you*
I also bet, that when you think of eating healthy, you think of weight loss, right? Which is true and good, but what you eat also determines your mental health now and in the future.
So here are my 5 favorite brain foods and there benefits!
- Dark Chocolate- Emphasis on DARK. No milk chocolate will do! It has to be 85% or more. I personally love 92%.
It reduces inflammation and helps prevent oxidation in the brain, which is the precursor to many neurological diseases.
(Plus it’s a great comfort food!)
Ever heard, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”? Probably pretty true. There are a lot of benefits in apples. One of them being a dementia fighting quality. The vitamin C is also a known Alzheimer’s reducer.
This is a great thing to put on or in your food. It helps with:
- Brain degeneration
A really good thing to have everyday! (Note: Must have black pepper with it.)
Some other nuts like, cashews and walnuts, are also great brain foods. But I prefer almonds.
Almonds increase blood flow to the brain!
Blueberries improve learning and motor skills. They are also very good for your eyes!
