Hugs, as you might already know, are stress relievers. They not only relieve stress from the person who is receiving them, but also the person giving them. So it is a really great deal for both! (If they are introverts or germaphobes, they might not think so, lol.)
Researchers have found that people who had physical contact with a loved one during a time of stress, were calmed by the contact.
A twenty-second hug releases the bonding hormone and neurotransmitter oxytocin, which is a natural antidepressant that God has placed in our bodies. Pretty cool, huh?

- Lowers blood pressure
- Longevity (If you’re happy, you are likely going to have the will to live longer, right?)
- Stronger immune system (This must be why I don’t get sick…)
- Higher self-esteem
There have been studies that have shown that hugs reduce some symptoms of Alzheimer’s.
So seriously people, Start dealing out the hugs! Accept the hugs! Hugs for everyone!
