There are so many verses in the Bible on fear and anxiety. I hope to talk about them in later posts, but today I want to share this verse that brings me comfort.
Joshua 1:9 – Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Is this not comforting? To know that we have a God that is with us, no matter where we are in our lives, who loves us!
We have nothing to fear!
I mean, He’s God. He is LORD over heaven and earth! Who can stand against Him?
Now that you have read this verse, does this mean that your fear and anxiety will go away?
Nope. This is something that will take time and discipline.
Something you have to believe with all your heart.
This is something I am working on. I do not claim to have this down yet!
It’s hard, but verses like these that show God’s love, help.
Overcoming fear and anxiety is a journey.
But remember the verse! God is with you the whole way!
I highly recommend writing down this verse and putting it somewhere where you can see it everyday. It will help you memorize it, and it will be a daily reminder of God, who is with you! I have found it calming and helpful to have verses like this taped all over my writing area and bedroom.
I really hope this verse that God has given us, helps you in your battle over fear and anxiety.
